NEWS The Institute for Maternal - Fetal Health (IMFH) is unique in Southern California for offering comprehensive care to mothers and their children in utero, children who may have problems detected before birth. Recognizing that many childhood diseases and defects can be prevented or ameliorated through early intervention, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and the affiliated University of Southern California physician groups established the IMFH in 2003, with subsequent expansion of services, as well as the number of faculty directly and indirectly involved in the IMFH mission. The IMFH focus is first and foremost on quality patient care. Also, the IMFH works to train and educate professionals in many specialty areas, and it seeks to expand ongoing research projects. With the launch of this website in July, 2006, the IMFH is now prepared to share with the general public, pregnant women and referring physicians throughout Southern California and other states, a look at its scope and vision.
